Other Dogues

At Chienparadis, we are so proud of our dogs, whether they have gone to family homes as loved pets or will be paraded and pampered for the show ring. Here are some photos of dogues that we have either bred ourselves, or are offspring from our dogues. We welcome as many photos as possible, so email me with more.

AFTER THOUSANDS OF VOTES, KYABRAM POOCH COMES OUT ON TOP

News

Picture: Ray Sizer Winners are grinners: Top dog Royce with his Kyabram owners Emma McGrath and Jake Spooner.

Ms McGrath said Royce was a loud snorer.

‘‘He used to sleep beside my bed when he was younger and I would wake up at 5 am and kick him out because I can’t handle (snoring),’’ she said.

Snoring aside, Royce was voted The News’ Top Dog.

Ms McGrath submitted a photo of Royce, 12 months, the last day entries were accepted.

‘‘I was a bit obsessed and was always checking how many votes he had,’’ she said.
‘‘Most of my friends voted for him.’’

Ms McGrath drove about 415 km from her Kyabram home to Temora in NSW to buy Royce. She used the internet to find a name for her first dog.

‘‘I googled French names and Royce means ‘son of the king’,’’ she said.

‘‘I didn’t know anyone who had (a French mastiff) and wanted to be different to everyone else in Kyabram.

‘‘People always stop and ask me about him.’’

Ms McGrath said Royce was shy, despite his imposing appearance.

‘‘He does growl, but if people walk towards him he runs away,’’ she said.

‘‘He’s all right once he gets to know everyone.

‘‘I sit on the ground and he puts his head on my knee — he likes to cuddle.’’

Ms McGrath said Royce often had sleepovers with her friends’ dogs.

‘‘He has Saint Bernard and bulldog friends,’’ she said.

Royce won a bag of Pedigree dog food valued at $50, a $50 Shepparton Club voucher and a dog prize pack.
